Tomoko is an independent neighbourhood restaurant in Parkstone, Poole.
Join us for ramen, rice bowls and small plates inspired by Japan and flavours from across Asia. Alongside the food, we serve a selection of beers, wines, house cocktails and crafted soft drinks.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or getting together with family and friends, you’re always welcome at Tomoko.
Story
Tomoko means ‘friendly child’.
We opened in 2021 with a love of Japanese food and the everyday dining spots found throughout Japan, from traditional shokudo to the local noodle bars tucked away in Tokyo’s side streets.
Ramen is at the heart of what we do. We take care with every element, from our slow-simmered broths and authentic noodles to the thoughtfully prepared toppings that finish each bowl. We respect the tradition, but we’re here to make something distinctly Tomoko.
And we like to keep things interesting. We’re always exploring new flavours and ingredients, and we’re happy to do things our own way. Some dishes stay close to their roots; others take a different direction.

You’ll find us on Ashley Road in Parkstone — between Poole and Bournemouth.
Street parking is available opposite, with a public car park about five minutes’ walk away. The More M1 and M2 buses stop on Ashley Road, and the nearest train stations are Branksome and Parkstone.
